Ruth Tschannen spent her childhood and youth in Switzerland. After an apprenticeship in an anthroposophical bookstore in Zürich, tending goats in the mountains and living and working in Italy with disabled children, Ruth decided to follow her calling as a teacher. In 1992, she completed her therapeutic eurythmy training in England. Ruth has taught in many different capacities, including curative education and social therapy trainings in Beaver Run and Copake as well as at conferences in and outside Camphill. She has lived in six different Camphill communities in the UK, USA and Canada. Currently, at Cascadia Ruth is the artistic director and has carried the festivals and artistic impulses for the last 16 years. She is on the core faculty of the Social Therapy Program and teaches a wide range of topics.
